Structure of the Syllabus
The course consists of approximately 70% pure chemistry; the remaining 30% deals with the social and applied aspects of chemistry. The syllabus is divided into a core and options. Each option is an expansion of material that is contained in the core. The syllabus will be assessed in relation to its objectives - see the Chemistry Syllabus . All material within the syllabus is examinable. Practical work is an integral part of the study of chemistry; it will be assessed through the medium of the written examination paper. |

2011 will offer a range of interactive, entertaining, and educational
activities for all ages. The Year of Chemistry is intended to reach
across the globe, with opportunities for public participation at the
local, regional, and national level.
